cafe aroma borealis, lancaster, pa

After the difficulty I have with no equipment at the Coffee Company, I call Cafe Aroma Borealis and ask if i can bring a mic. The owner says yes, but when I get there, he asks me to try first without the amplification. I give him a really hard time before relenting, but it turns out he is right. This place is awesome to play in. I feel more comfortable here than at any other gig.

I have a great night, but I play for almost no-one. My friends Suzy and Monty are there, but no-one else I know. A woman comes in with her young son (twelve maybe?) and he spends the next forty minutes with eyes transfixed on this crazy guitar-wielding song fighter. Two couples from out of town come in and sit down right in front of me and before long we are talking about all things Song Fight and they are duly impressed with the concept and my collection of songs.

I take a break at 9 PM and the place clears out. I spend the rest of a blissful evening playing for my two friends and the owner. A great night.
