floating bridge

in my imagination
we live side by side
and our rooftops are connected
by a floating bridge

in place of ventilation
we breath each other's air
with our bronchial tubes connected
by a pipeline

and we fly higher than we need to
we fly higher than we ought to
we fly higher, then come crashing to the floor
then we laugh and laugh
'til we can't anymore

in my imagination
we're both ten feet tall
and we dance instead of walking
and no-one's laughing

in place of entertainment
we read each other's mail
in as many different accents
as we can think of

and we fly higher than we need to
we fly higher than we ought to
we fly higher, then come crashing to the floor
then we laugh and laugh
'til we can't anymore
