i walked into beijing on my hands and knees
i was free of desease and i was feeling
like a chinese sewer rat
looking for a photo-mat
trying to develop my perspective
on the chinese collective gene pool
i'm no fool, i been to school
and I wasn't cool--I was studying with my
buddies in the dorm and i thought we had
a clue about the chinese scene
but i was totally green and i was badly misinformed

i been to china and it wasn't that big
that wall wasn't nothin', i stepped right over it
there were only five or six people there
and they all had long blonde curly hair
yeah i been to china, you don't need to go there

you wouldn't believe it up in tiananmen square
parties everywhere, people singin' songs
playing ping-pong
bells ringin' ding-dong, ding-dong
everybody's takin' a break
to throw down a milkshake
make no mistake
i was looking for some serious oppression
just one session i could mention
to my homies in the states
but i guess i'm gonna have to look some more
for something hardcore, 'cause this
was just about the same as goin' down the shore
